Eyewitness reports from Indonesia say military units have joined in with jihad terrorists in attacking villages in
Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. Reports to the Jakarta Post point to scores of dead and thousands of mainly-Christian homes
destroyed at the hands of well organized, uniformed militia equipped with machine-guns, rocket launchers and even
bulldozers. One witness told The Jakarta Post by telephone from Tentena, about 40 kilometres south of Poso town, last
week that more than 50,000 residents and refugees were in danger of fresh attacks after extremist militia bombarded the
villages of Betalemba, Patiwunga, Tangkura, Sanginora and Debua. “The civilian militias have killed many local people
and burned down thousands of houses and churches in five villages located between Poso and Tentena over the last three
days,” the report stated.
Christian Heritage calls upon the Government to exert urgent pressure on the Indonesian Government, or if Indonesia
continues to condone this terrorism and genocide, to work towards condemnation of the deplorable state of affairs by the
international community. Surely, if we are at war with terrorism state condoned terrorism in Indonesia must be firmly
opposed and halted. In the case of East Timor, international prevarication cost thousands their property and in some
cases their lives. It appears the situation is worse by far in Central Sulawesi, but we hear nothing of it. Christian
Heritage believes the international community should act before tens of thousands lose their lives.
