Exposure - A Carnival of Respect and Compassion for Animals
On Saturday, 1st December a carnival of respect and compassion for animals is being held to highlight the cruelty and suffering imposed upon animals within our society. The carnival is being titled "Exposue, a carnival of respect and compassion for animals". The event will have a specific focus on raising the publics awareness of the sow crate in New Zealand and we will be aiming at getting as many of the people in attendance to fill out submissions to the National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee asking for a ban to the sow crate in New Zealand.
The day will include bands, circus performers, information, stalls , displays, vegan food, and guest speakers including Sue Kedgley (Green Party MP) and Hans Kriek (RNZSPCA National Co-ordinator of the sow crate campaign). There will also be Libby the pig, and the SPCA dog squad in attendance.
The event will take place at Civic Square, Wellington between 12-4pm on Saturday 1st, December and is being organised by the Wellington SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), Wellington Animal Action, the Green Party, Save Animals from Exploitation (SAFE), and the Body Shop.
