decide future of Humanity alone; we assert ourselves antimilitarists; we refuse all wars and we consider that nothing
can justify this nonsense which is war. To look at a war passively, it is to accept it. To accept it, is to contribute

south to enable oil exploration by major companies. Church agencies have been heavily involved in relief efforts. The
NSCC delegates are visiting Aotearoa New Zealand to build support for their actions and to meet with Government and oil

~ SUN, 25 November - International Day of Solidarity with Palestine and the Palestinian People symposium, with a wide
range of speakers, screening of video documentaries, the day's event will conclude with a performance of Dabkah
(traditional Palestinian dance). A Palestinian meal will be served at approximately 8-15pm when the Muslim participants
are joined with to end the day-long fast (Ramadhan). From 1pm to 9pm, at the University Marae, Wynard Street, The

has been at the interface of politics and religion. He has just retired from being Director of the International Centre
for Reconciliation based at Coventry Cathedral (destroyed in WWII bombing); he is Vice-President of the Campaign for
Nuclear Disarmament, former Chairman of Amnesty and a Counsellor of the Anglican Pacifist Fellowship in England. From

~ SUN, 2 December - Aotearoa Educators celebrates the Declaration of Independence, by showing films produced by
independent Mäori film makers. Film makers highlighted include: Leonie Pihama, Mei Hill, Moana and Tauni Sinclair; Toby
Mills and Whetu Fala. The topics include globalisation, colonisation, through to contemporary and traditional art
practices. The Declaration of Independence was signed in October 1835. This document was accepted internationally,
acknowledging Aotearoa as the independent State of Mäori. Since this time, Mäori have fought to regain sovereignty over
guardianship of New Zealand. The film festival is to celebrate the steps we have taken, encouraging the pathway forward.
Free screenings will start at 10am, with repeated screenings to 5pm, at the Theatre, City Gallery. For more information

Mole's Roadworks. 'Darkness, Not Asleep' looks specifically at the violence of the imagination, when the mind is
confronted with events too huge for it to manage; the violence of the world familiar only in dreams. There has to be a
place where society’s dreams come together with our own personal dreams, otherwise, we are aliens in our own society, in
a world slowly spinning out of control. The performance includes soundscapes, a cappella song, chant, mask, percussion,
