PRESS RELEASE
USE IMMEDIATE
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ACTION AGAINST THE US WAR
12pm Sunday October 28th, QEII square
Protest against the US war in Afghanistan continues this weekend as Aucklanders take part in an international day of action. There will be a convergence with speakers and music starting in QEII Square at 12pm this Sunday, October 28.
Auckland's Anti War Coalition is organising the local event to oppose the war and to demand the Labour/Alliance government stop its support of the US position.
It is clear that the US government's reaction to the terrorist attacks in Washington and New York is resulting in the deaths of many innocent people.
A further concern is racism against Moslems and people from the Middle East, such as recent attacks on mosques in Hamilton and Auckland.
