Emergency response vigil details: if the US government begins retaliatory missile strikes or bombing, people will gather at the following places on the day any such attacks begin: in Wellington - gather at 5pm, at the Cenotaph (cnr Bowen Street, in front of the Beehive); in Napier - gather at 5pm in Clive Square; in Auckland - gather at 5pm, in Aotea Square; in Christchurch - gather at 5-30pm, outside the Cathedral in the Square; in Dunedin - gather at 5pm in the Octagon; in Whangarei - gather at 5pm at Rose St cenotaph.

~ Friday, October 5, Christchurch - Peace March from the Bridge of Remembrance to the Square. Speakers and poets will share their thoughts on the need for a peaceful and non-violent response to the violence of the events of September 11th; meet at 12 noon at the Bridge of Remembrance. ~ Sunday, 7 October, Dunedin - Picnic for peace! 2pm to 4pm, in front of the band rotunda, near the duck pond in the Dunedin Botanical Gardens; family friendly, bring food and conversation/information to share. Every Sunday until further notice.
~ Sunday, 7 October, Auckland - next organising workshop, from 2pm onwards, at the Service and Food Workers Union building, 35-39 George St, Kingsland.
~ Monday, 8 October, Wellington - 'Manufacturing Consent', Noam Chomsky's video exposing the extent of media manipulation of public opinion, very appropriate at this time! screens at 5-30pm, Mezzanine floor meeting room, Wellington Central library, Victoria St, koha entry.
