PRESS RELEASE
PSA Now Registered
The PSA is now a registered union.
The PSA successfully applied for registration today after the Court of Appeal decision released yesterday. The Court ruled that those registered in the days leading up to the enactment of the Employment Relations Act last year were not incorrectly registered.
PSA National Secretary Lynn Middleton said the PSA decided to register today to ensure that members would not be compromised from now on by the Court of Appeal decision.
“We look forward to the Government providing a speedy resolution to the legality of the union’s activities under the Employment Relations Act 2000 from the date the legislation came into force until today.” she said.
“In the meantime we remain confident that the employers we have bargained with in that period will honour the agreements reached in good faith. We are not expecting any to renege on arrangements.”
