"Neville Bolger's People's Bank appointment shows him for the unprincipled pragmatic National Party appeaser that we
always knew he was - a man so craven he will lick anybody's behind for power and bright lights," says Libertarianz
leader Peter Cresswell. "This political appointment to spend taxpayer's money is just further confirmation that
governments have no business being in business."
"If it weren't that many current National Party members learnt their own unprincipled appeasement from Neville they
would be hanging their heads in shame at Bolger's betrayal," says Cresswell, reaching for a bucket. "But confirmation
that Neville's unprincipled betrayal is unlikely to trouble National Party members was given as recently as the Rotorua
National Party Divisional conference, when: 'Forget principles - is it a vote-catcher?' was the catch-cry. How can
National complain about Bolger's sell-out, when they are playing the same game he taught them to play?" asks Cresswell.
Bolger's power lust was confirmed again at last year's constitutional hooey, when he delivered an obvious 'campaign
speech' in a bid to become New Zealand's first elected President; in that speech he observed that "holders of power -
both past and present - form a very exclusive club in which membership is not easily relinquished."
"Ain't that the truth!" exclaims Cresswell, observing: "As the two Jims scratch each other's backs, the long-suffering
taxpayer should bear in mind the words to John Lennon's song: 'I'll scratch your back, you'll knife mine,' and realise
that the backs being knifed are their own"
