An Invitation to a Census Burning
"I flatly refuse to answer the government’s pesky and intrusive questions into my life," says Libertarianz leader Peter
Cresswell, "and I invite all others who feel the same to join me in burning the government’s damn Census form!"
"I invite like-minded protestors to join libertarians across the country who will be hosting census burnings on census
night, or to join me in Whitianga - where I will be basing my campaign for the Coromandel seat in 2002," says Cresswell.
He also points out that, for less radical objectors, a form letter of protest for stapling to your Census form
(downloadable at www.freeradical.co.nz ) will also be made available for those who will be filling out their form,
albeit under protest. "These people can burn copies of their Census form if it makes them feel better about knuckling
under to Nanny’s intrusion," smiles Cresswell.
"Governments have for too long ignored that they only exist by the consent of the governed," says Cresswell. "Instead,
they have practised compulsion as their habitual means of dealing with us. This census offers a rare opportunity to give
the statists the finger."
