Libertarianz Health Deregulation spokesman Richard McGrath wants Helen Clark and Simon Upton made accountable for the
fatal decision not to screen blood supplies for hepatitis C in the 1990s. "Our party has repeatedly highlighted Mr
Upton's part in allowing 250 people to become infected with this nasty virus. Libertarianz fully support the actions of
those individuals who are endeavouring to have Upton and Clark indicted as the criminals they appear to be."
Dr McGrath believes Helen Clark may have trouble getting her head around the charges being lodged this weekend by 'bad
blood' claimants, especially since she believes that the state is sovereign, and that individuals must be sacrificed for
the greater good. "She and Upton are being charged under section 145 of the Crimes Act with 'criminal nuisance
endangering the health of an individual.' Fortunately, in this country it is STILL possible for individuals to assert
their right not to be poisoned by members of government."
"It is possible that Clark and Upton could end up with a place in history as New Zealand's two worst mass murderers,"
said McGrath. "Media reports suggest that over 20 people have died as a result of their decision not to screen blood
supplies. When a doctor's negligence costs someone their life, there is a massive outcry and a media circus. When the
incompetence of two politicians rubs out twenty lives, we could have the trial of the century!"
McGrath reiterated his party's policy of removing politicians from the health sector, saying that the government has no
business forcing people to fund a health industry that he describes as a killing machine. "I encourage the families of
people who have died on public hospital waiting lists to lay further charges against this gruesome twosome - and other
'health' ministers."
