Group Of More Young New Zealanders Launched

Published: Mon 9 Oct 2000 10:31 AM
A group of more young New Zealanders has been launched this afternoon, in response to the group of young New Zealanders launched this morning.
Although ostensibly an apolitical grouping of concerned and genuine more young New Zealanders, it is actually funded by the union movement.
The group plans to take out full page ads in major dailies, bemoaning previous governments and the terrible situation they have left for the current generation of young New Zealanders to clean up.
The ad will list the names and locations of hundreds of young New Zealanders who were unable to escape under the regressive new-right regime of the 80s and 90s, and who are now staying to try and create a better New Zealand.
The group of more young New Zealanders will be pushing the new and more progressive Labour/Alliance government to adopt the policies of the countries where the group of young New Zealanders have escaped to.
Most of these young people have gone to Australia and Europe, where there are more regulated economies, higher direct tax for high income earners, stronger unions, and more social spending.
The group of more young New Zealanders says that sounds pretty good.
