NZ Nuclear Free Zone Bill Submissions Deadline

Deadline Likely To Be Extended:
Submissions for the NZ Nuclear Free Zone Extension Bill - the closing date for submissions is currently Monday, 2 October 2000. However, it is likely that this will be extended (because of other business before the Select Committee), BUT the new deadline will not be confirmed for another two weeks.
Therefore, if you wish to have more time to prepare your submission, you should write to the Clerk of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Select Committee and your letter should include the following: a) a statement of your support for (or opposition to) the NZ Nuclear Free Zone Extension Bill; b) a brief outline of why you support / oppose the Bill; c) a statement that you will be sending supplementary material to reach the Clerk before the end of October.
This letter should be sent to David Sanders, Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Select Committee, Bowen House, Parliament Buildings, Wellington or fax (04) 499 0486 to arrive by 2 October.
You should have received an Alert re the Bill in the PMA mailing which was posted out last week, if you haven't received it, or would like additional copies, we can forward it to you by email.
When you make your submission, don’t forget to send twenty copies of it to David Sanders before the end of October (or the date you have specified in your letter if it is earlier); and if you wish to appear before the Committee to speak to your submission, you should indicate that in a covering letter to be sent with your submission, together with your daytime telephone number.
