Published: Sun 17 Sep 2000 04:11 PM
Student environmental groups around the country are today protesting McDonalds' sponsorship of “Clean up New Zealand Week”.
“Given McDonalds present and past environmental record their involvement in Clean up New Zealand Week is hypocritical.” said Students for Environmental Action spokesperson Michael Tritt.
“McDonalds is clearly attempting to buy an environmentally friendly image”
“We urge McDonalds to invest money into cleaning up their own environmental practices rather then spend it on cultivating a false environmental image.
