Free Trade Agreement Too Important for Political Squabbles
“The free trade agreement with Singapore is too important to get bogged down in party politics,” Barrie Saunders, President of the Wellington Regional Chamber of Commerce, said today.
“The proposed agreement with Singapore is important in its own right, but it is also important for the opportunities it opens up for further agreements in the region.
“On the other hand, if New Zealand now squanders this opportunity it will find it hard to get other countries to take us seriously as a partner in future agreements.
“I’d urge all parties to talk to one another, to deal with any legitimate differences and take what is a golden opportunity for New Zealand”.
