Views Sought On Interim Code Of Good Faith

Published: Tue 5 Sep 2000 03:58 PM
The group working on a code of good faith for the Employment Relations Act will make its consultation document available by the end of the week.
The Chairman of the Interim Good Faith Code Committee Walter Grills says positive progress is being made on the development of an interim Good Faith Bargaining Code, with significant areas of common approach identified.
"This consultation document will provide an opportunity for interested parties to put their views to the Committee on how the Code can best provide guidance on the practical application of the good faith duties," Mr Grills said.
"The Committee remains confident that an interim code can be recommended to the Minister of Labour in time for it to be of assistance to unions and employers when the Employment Relations Act comes into force."
The consultation document will be available on the websites of the NZ Employers' Federation, the NZ Council of Trade Unions, the Department of Labour and the State Services Commission:
