Killjoy Christians Orgasmic Over Proposed Drug Ban
"Laws that prevent adults from using recreational chemicals just serve to titillate the puritan pleasure police," said Libertarianz Health Spokesman Richard McGrath today. He was responding to calls by the Christian Heritage Party and others to regulate the use of the designer drug known as Fantasy.
"The thought of new, wider ranging anti-drug laws act as an aphrodisiac on control freaks such as Gael Donoghue," he added, "and it is my belief that puritan politicians actually achieve sexual gratification when they deny other people the opportunity to self-medicate."
Libertarianz would scrap all existing anti-drug legislation if elected, recognising individuals as the rightful owners of their bodies, and so free to consume whatever they wanted to - provided that no-one else, particularly children, were harmed in the process.
"If present trends continue," McGrath continued, "I foresee the possibility of prospective drug laws which ban substances as yet undiscovered. In fact, the fundamentalists may even go one step further, and ban all forms of pleasure outright. For, as H.L. Mencken observed, a puritan will always be nagged by the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may just be enjoying themselves."
