HOMOPHOBIA CAMPAIGN CONTRARY TO FREE SPEECH
Party Leader Graham Capill has criticised the AIDS Foundation’s intention to conduct an anti-homophobia campaign as “an attack on freedom of speech”.
Mr Capill said, “The AIDS Foundation is simply acting as a propaganda machine for the homosexual community. This campaign is designed to silence the critics of the homosexual life style.
“That they should target schools is proof that it is nothing less than propaganda. Are children really homophobic? What proof do they have that schools are breeding grounds for those that “fear homosexuals” (a literal translation of homophobia). In the absence of such proof, one can only conjecture the real reason for the campaign is to preach a message of tolerance towards homosexuals to our children,” Mr Capill said.
The AIDS Foundation have tried to justify the campaign on the grounds that homophobic behaviour prevents homosexuals engaging in safe sex.
“The AIDS Foundation have pushed the installation of condom-vending machines in all sorts of places to ensure ready access for gay people without the embarrassment of dealing directly with other people. It is therefore hard to understand why the AIDS Foundation is prepared to go through so many loops to bring their homophobia campaign in line with their stated objective of trying to stop the spread of AIDS. Unless, of course, they are merely a front for the gay community and its not-so-hidden agenda.
“This is a clear misuse of public funds and is contrary to freedom of speech. It is also contrary to the libertarian ideals the homosexual community are so quick to lay claim to. That such tactics are necessary suggests that perhaps this group are Christianity-phobic or conservatism-phobic.
“The Government should cut all funds to the AIDS Foundation until such time as they get on with the job of stopping the spread of AIDS. Until that happens we, the taxpayers, will have to continue to support homosexuals in their dogmatic and dictatorial crusade to kill free speech and intellectual debate,” Mr Capill concluded.
