Rebels Promote Parenting Petition

Published: Mon 24 Apr 2000 03:55 PM
Youth group Prebble's Rebels are giving their support to a petition calling for a conscience vote on Dr Muriel Newman's Shared Parenting Bill.
Gavin Middleton, Vice-President of Prebble's Rebels, who was present at the launch of the petition said "Shared Parenting is about fulfilling the needs of our most precious resource, the most valuable taonga of all - our children. The future of our children is above party politics, and should be put to a conscience vote."
"Children need and deserve the care and guidance of both parents, wherever that is possible. Shared Parenting recognises and reinforces this" Mr Middleton said.
