PRESS STATEMENT
The Ministerial Inquiry into the Electricity Industry will move to Dunedin on Friday for the first of its hearings outside Wellington.
The Inquiry has been hearing presentations from submissioners in the capital since March 20. The Wellington hearings will conclude on Thursday. Hearings in Dunedin, Christchurch, Auckland and Whangarei are as follows:
March 31: Dunedin
Skeggs Gallery, Dunedin City Council Chambers
The Octagon, Dunedin
Hours: 8.30am – 12.00pm
April 4: Christchurch
The Commodore Christchurch Airport,
449 Memorial Avenue, Christchurch
Hours: 9.00am – 2.30pm
April 5: Auckland
Airport Centra, Cnr Kirkbride and Ascot Road
Mangere, Auckland
Hours: 9.00am – 4.00pm
April 6: Whangarei
Cafler Suites, Whangarei District Council,
Forum, North Building, Rust Avenue, Whangarei
Hours: 10.00am – 1.00pm
The hearings are open to the public. News media welcome. Photography, videotaping and sound recording by news media are permitted.
The Inquiry is due to report to the Minister of Energy, Pete Hodgson, by June 12 2000.
