CHP Welcomes First Post-Election Poll
Party Leader Graham Capill was delighted to learn that the Christian Heritage Party out-performed NZ First in the first Colmar Brunton Poll of the year.
The Christian Heritage Party had 2.1% in the Party Vote, whilst NZ First got just 1.1%.
Mr Capill said, “When you consider the resources that the Parties which are in Parliament have and the opportunities they are given to be proactive over issues before Parliament, they have a distinct advantage in out-performing parties outside of Parliament. We therefore welcome the news that we are ahead.
“It is disappointing that TVNZ continues to base its reporting on the last election. That is now an out-of-date poll and if a Party, like ours, does well we believe it is worthy of being reported,” Mr Capill said.
The Christian Heritage Party will be taking up that issue with TVNZ.
“The Party has consolidated since the election and now has a strong team committed to crossing the 5% threshold in 2002. We expect this poll will be the first in a number of positive developments,” Mr Capill concluded.
