Wellington Museum gets $112,500 from Govt

Local National MP Annabel Young said that a grant of $112,500 to Wellington’s City and Sea Museum recognized the importance to Wellington of having a museum of local history.. Minister of Tourism, Lockwood Smith, made the grant on 25 November.
“I spent part of Election Day at the City and Sea Museum. It is a fascinating place for any person interested in the history of our city. It certainly is a real museum.”
Annabel Young said that the displays were a good distraction on Election Day.
“I am very pleased that the National Government recognized this special need of our city.”
The grant is tagged to the “Creative Legend” display. This is a state of the art display telling traditional Maori legends in a new way.
