Defence Minister Max Bradford tonight offered his deepest sympathy to the family of the New Zealand Army soldier who
died in East Timor late this afternoon.
Mr Bradford said the soldier’s death in a vehicle accident was a matter of considerable regret.
“He died while performing his duty and while helping to bring peace back to East Timor.
“Peace is returning, but East Timor is still a dangerous place to be engaged in.
“We should be proud of the job our people are doing,” Mr Bradford said.
