Peters Responds To NBR Allegation

Published: Fri 19 Nov 1999 11:39 AM
The Rt Hon Winston Peters MP, Leader of New Zealand First, today responded to the NBR story (19/11/99) alleging an outstanding New Zealand First debt.
“Campaign expenditure relates to the New Zealand First Party not myself personally and it is defamatory to suggest otherwise.
“In recent weeks enquiries on behalf of New Zealand First to Grey Advertising as to the amount outstanding were only recently responded to.
“The NBR are just continuing their campaign against myself and New Zealand First on which I guarantee substantial legal action.
“New Zealand First has always met its financial obligations and in this case we are simply waiting for some matters to be clarified,” said Mr Peters.
