National and Act agree on one thing - exporting jobs
Sun Nov 14 1999
National and Act are using election campaign billboards made in Australia.National and Act's vinyl billboards were made by Metro Media in Brisbane Australia.
'National & Act are not content just to destroy New Zealand jobs and businesses. They are not even prepared to make a contribution to the New Zealand economy,' Alliance leader Jim Anderton said.
'Other political parties can find manufacturers of billboards in New Zealand. Why can't National and Act.
'It seems one of the only things National and Act can agree on this election is ignoring New Zealand billboard manufacturers and exporting jobs to Australia.
'Not only do they buy foreign billboards but Act has imported a picture of a lake in Canada claiming it is one in New Zealand.
'The billboard, captioned 'Full Fair and Final' is actually a picture of a lake in British Columbia.
'Act is relying on foreign lakes and foreign billboards to sell themselves to the New Zealand public.
'It shows that if you scratch the surface of National and Act's campaigns they are just as dishonest as they have always been,' Jim Anderton said.
