Prebble Out Campaigning Labour
The latest TV1 poll shows that Richard Prebble is out campaigning his Labour opponent in Wellington Central.
Despite the boundary changes the latest poll puts Richard Prebble neck and neck with the Labour list MP Marion Hobbs and shows that Alliance voters in Wellington Central are not happy at their party’s candidate being withdrawn.
Richard Prebble attributed his strong showing to his leadership on local issues and said “Labour is offering too little too late, relying on big party politics in place of hard work on local issues.
“I believe the election in Wellington Central is going to be decided by local issues. Such as my campaigning for a new hospital and for statutory protection of the Town Belt rather than by party political issues.
“The voters of Wellington Central want a high profile effective representative. They don’t want to go back to being represented by a backbencher who cannot effectively represent their local issues.
“My team and I have now door knocked 70 % of the households in Wellington Central where as Labour has relied on party endorsements,” said Mr Richard Prebble.
