Alliance Misleads With Hoax Hoardings

Published: Thu 4 Nov 1999 03:24 PM
New Zealand First has told the Alliance to take down its misleading hoardings that claim that it is going to introduce free child healthcare.
The Leader, Rt Hon Winston Peters, said today that the Alliance is “deceptively” promising parents that it will do away with doctors costs and prescription charges, when in fact, medical care is already free for under sixes.
“This is cynical manipulation by a party preying on the fears of parents because the Alliance knows that New Zealand First gained free medical care for the under sixes when it was part of the Coalition Government.
“Young parents should be warned not to take any notice of the Alliance posters and to keep using the free medical system,” said Mr Peters.
