Wellington Central voters finally have a democratic choice to say no to the failed ideologically driven policies of the
past by voting for New Zealand First’s Wellington Central candidate, Jonathan Mosen.
Officially announcing his candidacy for New Zealand First today, Mr Mosen says that he has been appalled by the cynical
attempts of Act and Labour to gerrymander the result of the Wellington Central race.
“Wellington Central candidates are demonstrating contempt for the sanctity of the election process. Act, the party that
allegedly believes in freedom of choice, is happy to surrender those principles in the name of self-preservation”, said
Mr Mosen.
“New Zealand First will not put up with this. We are the only true centre party that can pull New Zealand together and
will campaign strongly in Wellington Central”.
Mr Mosen says he is well qualified to be the voice of Wellington Central in Parliament.
“I have been an advocate to politicians on blindness issues for the past five years. As a person who has been totally
blind since birth, I understand what it is to struggle to succeed, and how frustrating it is when one’s determination
and potential is limited by systemic problems.
“As a father of two with one child on the way, I understand the needs of families, the difficulties in making ends meet,
and the practical difference policies like free health-care for children under six have made to households.
“As someone who has had considerable contact with public servants, I understand that for the first time in their lives,
many public servants are feeling ashamed of the job they do because of the antics of their bosses. I look forward to
playing a part in helping these dedicated people to feel proud again”, said Mr Mosen.
“As for those who wonder whether New Zealand First has left its run in Wellington Central a little late, my response is
that it’s not when you start that counts – it’s where you finish”.
