National Claims Repulsive-ACT
ACT MP rural spokesman Owen Jennings said today, “lessee’s who fought the recent Maori Reserve Land Act are offended by a claim by the Prime Minister in a letter to all farmers that National has protected farmers property rights.”
“Lessees who have contacted me in the last 24 hours find the Prime Minister's claim to be over the top considering their property rights were mishandled.
“It also makes a mockery of the claim when as a Member of Parliament, I receive an endless flow of horrifying stories of loss of property rights under the Resource Management Act and the Forest Amendment Act.
“National is not strong on property rights and their claim is a further indication of how out of touch they are getting with farmers needs.
“Rural New Zealand needs a new advocate in Wellington and the ACT party’s rapidly rising popularity in rural New Zealand demonstrates that in the future it will be ACT New Zealand that rural families look to for support and answers to their many problems,” said ACT MP Owen Jennings.
