Media Release -- Economy
"A 30 cent corporate tax rate to simply match Australia is not enough," said ACT Leader Hon Richard Prebble today following National's recognition that Australia's plans to move to a 30 cent corporate tax rate is a threat to our economy.
"New Zealand must do more than just match Australia's tax rate. We must do better. New Zealand needs an advantage to keep businesses and talent here.
"The company and personal rate must come done. ACT showed National back in January that an immediate three-cent cut to the company and personal tax rates was easily achievable.
"While National is at least following ACT's lead and making noises in the right direction, Labour and the Alliance are sticking to their extreme tax, spend and bust plans that all independent surveys say will cost this country dearly in jobs and growth," said Hon Richard Prebble.
