Ministry Will Do Nothing For Small Business

ACT Finance spokesman Rodney Hide said today that Labour's plan to have a Minister of Small Business and an Office of Small Business was no compensation for higher taxes, a return to old-style unionism and increased red tape.
"It's typical for Labour that their solution to the woes of small business is not to reduce tax and red tape but to set up a new Ministry.
"The costs of government will sky-rocket should Labour ever get power. They are already promising 96 Inquiries and 158 new Ministries, Government departments and Government agencies. These are the costs that small business would have to shoulder under Labour.
"An Office of Small Business is no substitute for low, flat tax and policies that are pro-business and pro-jobs instead of anti-jobs and anti-business," said Rodney Hide.
