WINSTON SHOULD SIGN UP FOR THE MILITARY AGAIN IF IT'S SO GOOD: HENARE
Mauri Pacific Leader Tau Henare said if the military is so good for young people and discipline, Winston Peters should sign up straight away.
"He's the most erractic and ill-disciplined person I know. A stint in the Army might do him well if it's so good for youth," said Mr Henare.
"The idea is a fascist one entrenched in the senior levels of New Zealand First from Winston right through to Ron Mark.
"They should be looking at more constructive ideas for youth than incarceration, isolation and obliteration.
"Our youth are often the first ignored and the last consulted on anything. We need to making them a priority in positive and constructive policy plans rather than pandering to a conservative electorate.
"We need to be looking at why are they on the dole and into gangs etc and making services and support accessible to them, rather than the 90s version of turning the lock and throwing away the keys," said Mr Henare.
