ACT Leader Richard Prebble said today he was delighted with the overwhelming support for his Truth in Sentencing Bill to
ensure criminals serve more of their sentence.
Last night's Assignment/Colmar Brunton poll showed Mr Prebble's Bill gained the largest amount of public support - 86
percent - of any proposal for changes to crime penalties.
"The public is sending the two main parties a message that they are sick and tired of politicians letting dangerous
criminals out of jail early," Mr Prebble said.
