Overwhelming Support For Prebble's Crime Bill

ACT Leader Richard Prebble said today he was delighted with the overwhelming support for his Truth in Sentencing Bill to ensure criminals serve more of their sentence.
Last night's Assignment/Colmar Brunton poll showed Mr Prebble's Bill gained the largest amount of public support - 86 percent - of any proposal for changes to crime penalties.
"The public is sending the two main parties a message that they are sick and tired of politicians letting dangerous criminals out of jail early," Mr Prebble said.
