Bradford Pleased by Bright Future Response
Enterprise and Commerce Minister Max Bradford says he is heartened by the degree of support for policies in the Bright Future Package.
"There is a wide consensus that the direction set in the package is the path New Zealand must follow if it is to prosper in the 21st Century knowledge economy.
"While many in the media have been critical of the package, they obviously have not bothered to talk to many of the more than 2000 people who attended the consultation forums that were the foundation of the announcements.
"The media has largely gone to the usual Labour, Alliance and union sources who have predictably decided to play politics.
"One of the five steps identified by the Government earlier this year was the need to nurture our tall poppies and not hack them down.
"Forum-goers said the biggest hacker on the block is the collective negativity of the media," Mr Bradford said.
