Launch of Five Steps Ahead Programme
Wednesday 18th August
Media are invited to attend the launch of the Government's Five Steps Ahead programme on Wednesday 18th August.
The launch of the policy package is to be simulcast with an interactive link-up between television studies in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and through an outside broadcast facility at a hotel in Palmerston North.
Media are invited to the following venues to attend the launch:
· Auckland: Atrium, TVNZ Centre, 100 Victoria St West.
(hosted by Rt Hon Jenny Shipley, Hon Maurice Williamson, and Dr Lockwood Smith);
· Palmerston North: Steeple Room, Quality Hotel, 110 Fitzherbert Ave.
(hosted by Hon John Luxton and Hon Simon Upton);
· Wellington: Studio 9, Avalon Studios, Percy Cameron St, Avalon.
(hosted by Hon Max Bradford and Hon Bill English);
· Christchurch: TV Centre, 202 Gloucester St.
(hosted by Hon Dr Nick Smith and Hon David Carter);
· Dunedin: Natural History Unit, 10 Dowling St.
(hosted by Rt Hon Sir William Birch).
Information packs will be couriered to media around the country for Wednesday morning with a MIDDAY EMBARGO.
Media are asked to be at the venue before the doors close at 10.45am. The simulcast is to commence at 11am. Ministers will be available for questions at approximately 12.30pm, after the presentation and feedback time.
