Legislation introduced into the House yesterday for freeing up and commercialising the apple and kiwifruit industries demonstrated how far out of step the Wool Board is with its plan to go in the opposite direction, ACT rural spokesman Owen Jennings said today.
"It is clear that fruit growers are being listened to and feel part of their board and its plans. The Wool Board could take a few simple lessons on true accountability and common sense," Mr Jennings said.
"Growers are heartily sick and tired of their industry and its leadership going backwards."
