Alliance MP John Wright is pleased at the support he has received in the Waimakariri electorate since the deal was
clinched sending Mike Moore to Geneva.
John Wright has maintained an office in Waimakariri since he was elected and he will stand there as an Alliance
candidate in the forthcoming election.
He says demand for help from his office is already increasing since the resolution to the WTO split was announced.
Under the deal, Mike Moore will soon leave for Geneva to run the WTO for the next three years.
'It's important for people who live in the Waimakariri electorate to know that they can still get help from a local MP,'
John Wright said.
'My office is open and serving constituents, just as it has been for the past year or so during Mike Moore's extended
absence to campaign for the WTO director-general's position.
'Mike has been a popular local MP and he is to be congratulated on achieving his new position.
I know his enthusiasm for the WTO position will be matched by his sadness at leaving Waimakariri behind.
'As people farewell Mike Moore, I am grateful for the personal support in the electorate which I've received since the
announcement was made.
