Power Price Decision Up To Minister

Published: Tue 20 Jul 1999 02:22 PM
New Zealand First stands for cheaper power prices for ALL New Zealanders.
To help achieve this, New Zealand First Energy Spokesperson, Peter Brown, will be meeting the Minister of Energy for further discussions this afternoon.
After the caucus meeting today, the Leader, Rt. Hon. Winston Peters, said: “We have a number of proposals to put to Max Bradford on what are very complex issues”.
“We will be asking the Minister to come back urgently on these – at least by this coming Friday.
“Our MPs will be conferring on this over the weekend and will give a response publicly on the issues and our decision on Sunday.
“Too much is at stake to allow this issue to become just another political football”, said Mr Peters.
