Does John have the Wright stuff?
New Zealand Democrats' John Wright says the party has never been closer to power than they are at the moment, but the
question is exactly what power does he want?
"Mr Wright holds the esteemed positions of business development, regional development and State Owned Enterprise
spokesman, and he obviously has his heart set on a financial portfolio in a Labour/Alliance bloc government," said Roger
Sowry, Leader of the House.
"I challenge Helen Clark to say that she'd accept his financial expertise in any Labour-led government - or even to say
she'd consider his monetary advice."
"While Labour have had only nine years to come up with no ideas? the NZ Democrats have been slogging away at it for 45
years now.
"So far their policies seem to comprise replacing corporate control of business with some weird democratic arrangement,
outlawing competition and restricting foreign investment in New Zealand."
