ACT Congratulates Simon Bridges
ACT Leader David Seymour has congratulated Simon Bridges on being elected leader of the National Party.
“Simon Bridges will need ACT more than any other National Party leader as voters on the right who value personal freedom
will be concerned about his socially conservative views. Whereas John Key voted for marriage equality and pledged to
vote for the End of Life Choice Bill, Mr Bridges voted against both.
"Mr Bridges will find it difficult to criticise Shane Jones’ corporate welfare machine given he was running it until 6
months ago as Economic Development Minister.
“Nevertheless, Mr Bridges can still become Prime Minister in coalition with ACT which does represent freedom, choice and
responsibility”, says Mr Seymour.
