Veterans Take Another Hit under National
Veterans can’t seem to catch a break with National, says New Zealand First.
“The fact that the age of eligibility for the Veteran’s Pension is increasing under National is a total disgrace,” says New Zealand First Defence Spokesperson Ron Mark.
“The hits keep coming for our veterans under this National government.
“Having to wait an additional two years until the age of 67 means some of our veterans may face significant challenges, especially if they have been unable to work for a number of years.
“This decision is nothing short of disrespectful and National are again ignoring our men and women who dutifully served overseas.
“New Zealand First has always stood up for the rights of veterans and they deserve to be treated better than this,” says Mr Mark.
