A snapshot of what central Christchurch could look like
Today Christchurch people got a better feel for the future of their central city.
We announced the next steps in the development of the Christchurch Convention Centre Precinct.
The centre will be a huge boost for the central city, attracting businesses, events, and conferences to Christchurch.
Plenary Conventions NZ and Accor have been announced as preferred providers and construction remains on track to begin in 2015, with the centre to open for business in 2017.
The precinct, located in the heart of Christchurch, will combine the Convention Centre, hotel accommodation, hospitality, retail, and commercial and residential space.
