An Insight into Coromandel communities
Coromandel MP Scott Simpson says newly released statistical information is offering a fascinating insight into our communities.
Statistics New Zealand has just released “2013 QuickStats about a place”.
It’s an online tool that combines census and other official statistics to profile New Zealand’s neighbourhoods.
Scott Simpson MP says “The information is easy to understand and full of really interesting details, even for quite small places. You can find out, for example, how do people in Paeroa get to work? What’s the average age in Whitianga? Or how many Ngatea households have the Internet?”
He says there’s information about population, incomes, housing, cultural diversity, age and gender.
Scott Simpson says the information will be really useful for making decisions about the needs of Coromandel’s communities.
