Secret Deals in Auckland?
New Zealand First Leader Rt Hon Winston Peters is calling on the National Party to come clean about secret deals being done with the ACT Party in Auckland electorate seats.
“The deal has been done to stitch up Epsom, but what else is being done behind closed doors?
“Little more than 48 hours ago ACT leader Jamie Whyte was speaking nostalgically about standing in the Pakuranga seat, but today he’s backed off.
"Obviously National wants a straight run for Maurice Williamson and his connections there so Whyte has bowed to pressure, but what’s he getting in return?
“All this explains clearly why National refused to bring in a law against coat-tailing and tawdry deals.
"Remember earlier this week, National did a Dunne deal in Ohariu to try to get the Minister For Legal Highs back into Parliament!"
