Talent2 email error beggars belief
School staff and the public will be dumbfounded this afternoon at being asked to stomach yet another major mistake by
Novopay providerTalent2, says Labour’s Education spokesperson Chris Hipkins.
“After eight months of on-going debacles it is time the Government stated plainly what steps it is taking to hold
Talent2 to account for its on-going failures.
“The Government needs to take seriously the massive and systemic privacy breaches occurring across the public service.
New Zealanders are entitled to know that their private and personal information, held by the government, will be kept
secure and isn’t going to be splashed all over town via email.
“Blaming human error simply doesn’t cut it. This is basic stuff.
“The Government should have procedures in place to stop this kind of thing from occurring. How many more breaches will
it take before it wakes up and takes some definitive action?
“This is another failure by Talent2 to meet the simple terms of its contract with the Government. People working in
schools have heard enough excuses. Now they want to know the problems are being fixed and that Talent2 is being held to
account,” Chris Hipkins said.
