PM Up to His Neck in SkyCity Land Sale Offer
New Zealand First says Prime Minister John Key must apologise and withdraw his false statement made yesterday in Parliament in relation to the sale of TVNZ land to SkyCity.
Mr Key told Parliament that “It is pretty straightforward. SkyCity, after it decided it would be prepared to enter an expression of interest process to have a larger convention centre, went off to its architects. Its architects designed such a thing, realised they needed more land, worked out who owned the land, and approached Television New Zealand."
Rt Hon Winston Peters says that statement is demonstrably false.
“Mr Key got it completely wrong – again – and misled Parliament for which he must apologise and withdraw his statement.
“The question that must be answered is whether he uttered these falsehoods deliberately.
“But what it tells you is how donkey-deep he was in the SkyCity convention centre negotiations,” says Mr Peters.
