Labour thanks Charles Chauvel for his service
Labour Leader David Shearer has today accepted the resignation of list MP Charles Chauvel who is leaving to take up a new post at the United Nations.
“Charles is a talented and dedicated MP who has made a huge contribution to the Labour team. He will be missed.
“We thank him for his commitment to standing up for New Zealanders and for working to make people’s lives better.
“Charles has played an important role within the Labour team. He has chaired a number of Select Committees and represented Labour in many portfolio areas since 2006, including most recently as Shadow Attorney-General and spokesperson for Justice and Arts, Culture and Heritage.
“We wish Charles well with his new role. He will do New Zealand proud in this international assignment,” said David Shearer.
