Green Party expresses sadness at deaths
The Green Party has expressed their sadness at the loss of lives of two soldiers and injury of six New Zealand Defence Force personal overnight.
“I want to extend our heartfelt sympathies and our aroha to the friends and families of the soldiers who have lost their lives in service to their country,” said Green Party Co-leader Metiria Turei.
“Our thoughts are also with the families of the six injured personal, we hope that they will recover fully.
“Losing loved ones is always devastating, but it is especially so when they chose to selflessly work on the other side of the world in a community that has been devastated by war and terror.
“The provincial reconstruction team is supporting and working with communities in Afghanistan to rebuild and to reconstruct their homes and communities, and ultimately their lives.
“The Green Party extends our very sincerest sympathy to the family, friends, colleagues and communities of the two soldiers that have lost their lives,” said Mrs Turei.
