Labour expresses sympathies to families of soldiers killed in Afghanistan
Labour Leader David Shearer has offered his condolences to the families and loved ones of the two New Zealand soldiers killed in Afghanistan.
“I know their loss will be felt by their colleagues, and even more deeply by their grieving families and many friends.
“These two young men died doing their duty for New Zealand. Along with other members of the provincial reconstruction team they were working to bring peace to a hugely troubled area.
“Our thoughts and sympathies are with their families, and with those of the six injured personnel, at this very sad and tragic time,” said David Shearer.
