Greens saddened by death of Dr Hone Kaa
The Green Party has expressed their sadness at the passing of Rev Dr Hone Kaa.
“New Zealand has lost a great leader and activist who played a significant role in advancing Maori and children’s rights,” said Green Party MP Kevin Hague.
“Dr Hone Kaa was a leader of biculturalism in New Zealand as Anglican Archdeacon of Tamaki Makaurau.
“He was also a defender of children through his work with Every Child Counts.
“Dr Kaa had a long history of activism, including a leadership role in the anti-apartheid movement, where I first came to know him.
"He will be greatly missed by many, and our thoughts are with his whānau and friends today,” Mr Hague said.
