Education Minister Anne Tolley is
attempting to rewrite history in her attempts to play public
censor with the Parliamentary Library, Labour’s Education
spokesman Trevor Mallard said today.
“Anne Tolley needs to get her facts straight; it was the New Zealand Herald Political Editor Audrey Young who broke the story that Ms Tolley was demanding the Parliamentary Library remove information regarding National Standards.
“Anne Tolley has today come dangerously close to publicly calling Audrey Young a liar.
“If Anne Tolley wants to avoid public criticism of her book burning approach to censorship of National Standards then she should have never suggested the Parliamentary paper be withdrawn,” Trevor Mallard said.
