Financial statements of the NZ Govt for 9 months

Financial statements of the Govt of NZ for 9 months ended 31 March 2010
The Financial Statements of the Government provide a record of the Government’s financial performance over the nine months ended 31 March 2010 and its financial position as at that date.
The March results are reported against forecasts based on the 2009 Half Year Economic and Fiscal Update (HYEFU), published on 15 December 2009.
Excluding the impact of gains (which are not immediately available to the Crown) and oneoff revenue items recorded during the year, the March result was broadly in line with the HalfYear Update. Although tax revenue was lower than forecast this shortfall was more than offset by core Crown expenditure which was also lower than expected.
